Microsoft SQL Server helps organizations unlock breakthrough insights across the organizations and quickly build solutions to extend data across on-premises and public cloud.

This general-purpose package includes an XML file that your IT team can configure and extend to execute almost any query against a SQL Server or SQL Server database.

If your business relies on SQL Server-based applications, you can use this package to monitor the servers themselves, and extract statistics and information from your databases and their associated packages.

This package requires knowledge of SQL to develop your own queries.

This is a local PC package.
To use it, you need to have a Bizeo Drone installed on your Windows PC or network.

Activating your SQL Server package

  1. Install the package on your drone.
If you have more than one drone, you'll need to decide which to assign the SQL Server package to (if you haven't already done so). If you have only one drone, you can skip this step.
  2. Open your 'Bizeo Settings' application. To do this, either right-click the Bizeo indicator icon on your Windows toolbar (which may be inside the collapsed group under the small arrow near your clock) or launch it from your Windows Start Menu.
  3. Click on the Installed Packages tab. You should see your SQL Server package here. Click on the 'Add new data source' button.
  4. Set up a data source to connect to your SQL Server database:
    1. Create a name for your data source.
    2. Select the SQL Server where your database is located.
    3. If you use SQL authentication to log in to the SQL server, leave the 'Windows Authentication' checkbox unchecked, and enter your SQL username and password.
    4. If you use Windows authentication to log in to the SQL server, check the 'Windows Authentication' checkbox, and enter your Windows password.
    5. Click the 'Next' button.
    6. Select the database you want to connect to and click the 'Test Connection' button to ensure Bizeo can access the database. If your connection test is successful, click the 'Finish' button to save your data source. If the connection test fails, check your credentials.
  5. After saving your data source, you're ready to set up a task in your Bizeo account.

Using your SQL Server package

Please note: Installing this package simply allows Bizeo to connect to your ADO data source. You need to develop your own KPIs for the ADO package. See the documentation above for an explanation of this.

When adding a new task in Bizeo:

  1. Select the Drone on which you've installed the package and configured the data source.
  2. Select the data source you have just set up.
  3. Select a KPI and set the parameters, and save your task. Bizeo will be displaying your data in no time!
  4. Repeat for each KPI you want to monitor.
